Sharing the holiday festivities with the community, the Islamic center of Cambridge, Ontario, has invited neighbors for a fun night of games, gifts, prizes and more.
The annual Family Fun Night, which returns after a two year hiatus, due to coronavirus, is planned for December 25.
“After two years, we are so happy to be able to celebrate again,” Alam Mohammad, director of the Islamic Centre in Cambridge, told Cambridge Today.

“There’s lots of fun and lots of surprises. During the year, we do offer so many programs, but those programs are mostly focused on educating people,” Mohammad added.
“So, our Family Fun Night is focused on fun for families, for all men, women, and children to come together, sit together, have fun, win some prizes, enjoy good food, and then go home.”
Mohammad invited neighbors of all faiths to come and share festivities with the local Muslim community.

“This is open to the community, and everyone is cordially invited,” Mohammad said.
“We often have the mayor, MPP and other politicians come out to the event, year after year. It really is a great event that brings everyone together. This is for the whole community, for family and friends, so come and join us.”
Christmas is the main festival on the Christian calendar. Its celebrations reach its peak at 12:00 PM on December 24 of every year.
Muslims believe in Jesus as one of the great Prophets of God and that he was born miraculously, conceived with no father, to his mother, Mary, but not that he was son of God.
