5 Major Historical Changes Happened in Rajab (Infographic)

Rajab is the first of the four Sacred Months in the Islamic calendar.

It’s the month of peace, during which fighting is prohibited.

It’s the month that preludes Sha’ban and Ramadan.

Allah says:

Verily, the number of months with Allah is twelve months (in a year), so was it ordained by Allah on the Day when He created the heavens and the earth; of them, four are Sacred. That is the right religion, so wrong not yourselves therein. (Quran 9:36)

When Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) sighted the moon of Rajab he used to supplicate:

“O Allah, make the months of Rajab and Sha’ban blessed for us, and let us reach the month of Ramadan (i.e. prolong our life up to Ramadan, so that we may benefit from its merits and blessings).”

Taqwa – Living the Main Purpose of Ramadan

Taqwa is a major purpose for the month of Ramadan. The people of taqwa are those who do the things that they are commanded and avoid the things which Allah has made prohibitive. And evidently, to reach a state of taqwa requires vigilance, it requires patience and sincerity.
