The death of a child is devastating and often referred to as the worst experience a parent can endure.
The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: When a person’s child dies, Allah says to His angels, ‘You have taken the child of My slave.’
They say, ‘Yes.’
He says, ‘You have taken the apple of his eye.’
They say, ‘Yes.’
He says, ‘What did My slave say?’
They say, ‘He praised you and said “Innaa lillaahi wa inna ilayhi raaji’oon (Verily to Allaah we belong and unto Him is our return).’
Allaah says, ‘Build for My slave a house in Paradise and call it the house of praise.’”

Seeking to help those who lost a child, a UK Muslim charity has donated ‘baby loss packs’ for bereaved parents to Royal Blackburn hospital.
The packs, co-produced by Blackburn UK Trust and Maggies Legacy, aim to offer solace to those mothers that have either lost a new born baby.

Dealing with Loss
“We need to support these mothers during the most challenging time,” Trustee and Chair of the charity Mufti Saleh said, Lancashire Telegraph reported.
“We hope this act of kindness from our donors can help the families through the grieving process.
He added, “we are indebted to the NHS staff for providing care to those that need it the most.”
There are many texts in the Qur’an and Sunnah which point to the virtue and great reward of those who are patient and state that Allah will give them reward without measure.
Allah say in the Qur’an, Surah al-Baqarah verse 155, “And certainly, We shall test you with something of fear, hunger, loss of wealth, lives and fruits, but give glad tidings to As- Saabiroon (the patient)”
Mufti Saleh stressed the importance of ‘keeping faith and patience’ and how that can help the mother and parents deal with the loss.
“We thank the chaplaincy team for helping us provide these packs and look forward to helping ELHT and other NHS trusts in future,” he added.
