Dr. Andrew March is not a Muslim but he is a scholar in Islamic law. He asks do you understand Shariah? The issue is, the media has made the word Shariah full of negative connotations.
Shariah is broader than just Islamic law. Shariah mean way or path to God and for Muslims Shariah goes much deeper than just law. Shariah is the ongoing search for God’s prescriptions for human actions.
Shariah is designed to protect human welfare, which is defined through life, religion, reason, wealth, family and honour.
