Feeling Unmotivated to do Extra Worship

Are you feeling unmotivated to do extra worship? This is an indication that we have a build up of sin. So seek forgiveness from Allah. 

When we commit sins without repentance then our hearts become very dirty and impure. It is like not taking a shower for years, you will become extremely dirty and sick as a result of not cleaning yourself. It is the same spiritually. You must purify your heart by turning back to Allah constantly. 

When we don’t repent then our hearts become stained and will be covered with a veil. One of the symptoms of our heart being covered with these stains is that we are not repenting to Allah.

Taqwa is a major purpose for the month of Ramadan. The people of taqwa are those who do the things that they are commanded and avoid the things which Allah has made prohibitive. And evidently, to reach a state of taqwa requires vigilance, it requires patience and sincerity.
