Are We Accountable for Our Thoughts?

Do you wonder if we are accountable for our thoughts? The idea of our thoughts being accounted for is debatable.

In Allahs mercy, the Prophet (pbuh) has said “Allah has overlooked what crosses their minds so long as they do not utter with their tongue or act upon it with their lips.”

There are two types of thoughts, passing thoughts and settled thoughts. We have passing thoughts that if we let sit there, they become settled thoughts.

If settled thoughts are left then they become an intention, and when you intend to do something, it becomes a sense of determination. When we are about to commit a sin sometimes, we get blocked from doing it but yet we still find a way – this is the determination.
