ICNA Plans Virtual Symposium in April

The Islamic Council of North America (ICNA) will go virtual for the second year in a row, as it hosts its annual National Symposium, scheduled for April 2-4, 2021.

“This is a chance given to us by the Almighty to submit our complete trust into his hands and take heed of our actions, both inward and outward,” the symposium website reads.

“With this new year and new hope, let’s gather at ICNA Symposium to remind ourselves of our covenant to Allah SWT, rejuvenate our spirits, and reaffirm ‘In God We Trust’.”

The theme of this year’s event is ‘In God We Trust.”

Speakers include Sh. Yaser Birjas, Imam Siraj Wahhaj, Sh. Omar Suleiman, Dr. Altaf Husain, Ustadah Ieasha Prime, and Zahra Billoo.

The decision to hold a virtual symposium comes due to COVID-19; its ravaging effects still persist across the globe, causing a partial or complete shutdown of large gatherings.

Last year’s convention was also held online.

ICNA is one of the largest, non-profit, grassroots Muslim organizations in North America. It runs many projects, programs, and activities designed to help in reforming society at large.

Since 1968, ICNA has worked to build relations between communities by devoting itself to education, outreach, social services, and relief efforts.
