Parents Don’t Be Overbearing with Your Children

Parents, don’t be so overbearing in the religion with your children. Many of us are raised Muslim because our parents are Muslim but we don’t know what it means to be a Muslim.

When you move to a part of the world that is not full of Muslims, Islam gets reduced to a few rituals. It is just some things that we do.

For some people they discover Islam later on in life. They rediscover Allah’s book. They rediscover Allah’s message. Then they become more serious about religion. When they change, everyone notices that they have changed.

What happens when parents suddenly change like that is that they expect their children to change suddenly too. They don’t want their children to make the mistakes that they made when they were younger. They become too overbearing with their children. However, this is more damaging than good.

When we enforce the deen onto people we know that will push people away. We need to be kind with our children.

Taqwa – Living the Main Purpose of Ramadan

Taqwa is a major purpose for the month of Ramadan. The people of taqwa are those who do the things that they are commanded and avoid the things which Allah has made prohibitive. And evidently, to reach a state of taqwa requires vigilance, it requires patience and sincerity.
