Allah says in the Qur’an, “And We will surely test you with something of fear and hunger and a loss of wealth and lives and fruits, but give good tidings to the patient.” (2:155)
Thus, the believers are informed that they will be tested, that this world is a place where, along with happiness, peace and tranquility are the states of fear, grief, and sadness.
Over the past weeks, the novel coronavirus pandemic has wreaked havoc across the whole world, killings tens of thousands and infecting more than 2.6 million.

In Blackburn, the Muslim community is mourning the death of two local imams who sadly passed away after contracting the coronavirus, Lancashire Telegraph.
Imam Hazrat Moulana Abdul Razzak Jalgaonkar and Moulana Abdul Majid Hodekar were known throughout the region and the community, and had helped the mosque in a range of charitable causes.
A statement from the mosque said: “Due to the current Government guidelines we are unable to share funeral details with you.
“We kindly request that you abide by these rules and support us in these difficult times.”
Tributes were paid on Facebook, with one user saying: “A sad loss to the community.
“May Allah SWT grant him the status of a martyr.
“Sincere condolences to his family and the community to whom he made such a big contribution to.”
Muslim Loss
The imams are not the first Muslim scholars to pass away due to COVID-19 pandemic in the UK.
Earlier this month, the Muslim community was shocked by the news of the passing away of Ghousia Mosque imam Hafiz Nisar Gorji due to COVID-19.
The President of the Islamic Commission of Spain (CIE), Riay Tatary Bakry, passed away April 6, in Madrid, at the age of 72, adding to the list of Muslim victims of coronavirus.
As of Thursday, April 23, the COVID-19 pandemic has infected 2,657,611 and killed other 185,318, according to the latest estimates by WorldOMeter.
In the UK, there are 133,495 COVID-19 cases. The virus has killed 18,100 so far in the country.
