- Because we have not grown up with the person intimately.
- Because genders communicate differently. The other person is like someone who is coming from another culture – of course, communication can, thus, be challenging.

Tip 1
„Body speaks louder” – Body language is an important aspect of any communication, oftentimes even more important than words! This is why one of the practices of Prophet Muhammad was turning to the person whom he spoke to with his full body. Do the same when you talk to your spouse. Indicate that you pay attention.
Tip 2
We are not mind-readers. So, to avoid any miscommunication, ask questions before you let yourself feel hurt by your spouse’s actions or words. Ask, for example, ”What do you mean exactly by this?”
