Halal Food Festival Comes to Birmingham This Month

Family friendly, ground-breaking Halal Food Festival is coming to Birmingham this month, bringing a fun filled tasty experience to the city.

This year’s indoor exhibition, to be held at the National Exhibition Center in Birmingham on May 27-28, will showcase various sectors, such as fashion, finance, travel, and health and wellness.

“We are delighted to introduce the ‘Muslim Lifestyle Experience’ to our events,” a spokesperson for the festival said, Arab News reported.

“We believe this event will be a fantastic opportunity to bring together like-minded individuals and showcase the vibrant and dynamic Muslim culture.”

The concept of halal, — meaning permissible in Arabic — has traditionally applied to food.

Muslims should only eat meat from livestock slaughtered by a sharp knife from their necks, and the name of Allah, the Arabic word for God, must be mentioned.

The event is the brainchild of a team of young British Muslims, and it’s designed to create an experience that celebrates their culture, whilst also producing an opportunity for entrepreneurs within the Halal/Muslim industry to meet their target market.

It is also a great opportunity for other cultures to explore and experience diverse aspects of the Muslim lifestyle.

“With the growing demand for the halal market, the ‘Muslim Lifestyle Experience’ is a welcome addition to the already exciting lineup of the Halal Food Festival events,” organizers said in a statement.

It seeks to be “a celebration of diversity and will cater to a range of interests and age groups,” including a cookery theater, fashion and cultural art at the kids’ zone, and a food court.
