Support Your New Sister

When someone says the shahadah it’s so very emotional and exciting. But what about life after shahadah?

New sisters are particularly vulnerable; some have had to leave home, some lose their family, many are rushed to marry and some end up divorced. Unfortunately, some sisters feel so dejected that they leave Islam.
Be a true friend to your new sister. Welcome them into your community. Make them feel like they belong. And if things get difficult, do your best to help. If you can’t help, direct her to an organisation that can. Don’t let her leave Islam.

عبد الرحمن طنطاوي · سورة إبراهيم للشيخ خالد الجليل -تلاوة تهز القلوب- في مسجد الملك خالد بأم الحمام بالرياض سورة إبراهيم سورة مكية ماعدا الآيتان 28، 29 فمدنيتان، وهي من المئين وقيل من مثاني، آياتها 52، وترتيبها في المصحف 14، في الجزء الثالث عشر، نزلت بعد سورة نوح، ذُكر فيها قصة النبي إبراهيم، والتفرقة بين الظلمات والنور. موضوع السورة الأساسي كما في مواضيع السور المكية في الغالب يتناول: العقيدة في أصولها الكبيرة، الوحي والرسالة والتوحيد والبعث والحساب والجزاء. تضمنت السورة عدة حقائق رئيسية في العقيدة. ولكن حقيقتين كبيرتين تظللان جوهر السورة كلها وهما الحقيقتان المتناسقتان مع ظل إبراهيم في جوهر السورة: حقيقة وحدة الرسالة والرسل ، ووحدة دعوتهم ووقفتهم أمة واحدة في مواجهة الجاهلية المكذبة بدين الله على اختلاف الأمكنة والأزمان، وحقيقة نعمة الله على البشر وزيادتها بالشكر ومقابلة أكثر الناس لها بالجحود والكفران. وتنقسم السورة إلى مقطعين متماسكي الحلقات: المقطع الأول يتضمن بيان حقيقة الرسالة وحقيقة الرسول . ويصور المعركة بين أمة الرسل وفرقة المكذبين في الدنيا وفي الآخرة . ويعقب عليها بمث...

Taqwa – Living the Main Purpose of Ramadan

Taqwa is a major purpose for the month of Ramadan. The people of taqwa are those who do the things that they are commanded and avoid the things which Allah has made prohibitive. And evidently, to reach a state of taqwa requires vigilance, it requires patience and sincerity. The verse is pertaining to fasting I found in a single set of verses in chapter 2 starting at verse 183: O you who have believed, decreed upon you is fasting as it was decreed upon those before you that you may become righteous. ( 2:183 ) A Collective Act of Worship Allah is telling us that fasting has been made obligatory and then Allah tells us that just as it was prescribed for those before us.
