In a hadith Qudsi, it is mentioned that Allah (swt) says “I have forgiven him” to the angels. Allah smiles at the sinner when he turns to Him, knowing He is the most merciful. Allah forgives the one who begs Allah for forgiveness.
This man goes and commits the same sins again and again. Each time he makes a sincere repentance and cries to Allah. Each time Allah forgives him.
Allah (swt) says to the angels “look at this man, he knows he has committed a sin and he has a forgiving lord”. The mistake we make is giving into shaytaan when he whispers to us ” you have committed too many sins”. As long as we make taubah Allah will forgive us, it is when we give up making taubah is the issue. Never despair Allah is the most forgiving and most merciful.
