A Good End Three Generations of Pilgrims Die in Hajj

Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) made a prayer towards the end of his life saying,

O Allah, let the best of my lifetime be its ending, and my best deed be that which I seal [my life with], and the best of my days the day I meet You.”

This du’a of the righteous is what many Muslims make to ask for a life of bliss in the hereafter.

Therefore, when Hajj Mohammad Salim Salim Qassem passed away during hajj, many regarded his death as a perfect good end many Muslims pray for, Gulf News reported.

The death of Qassem, a respected retired post manager from Beheira, made headlines after news revealed that both his father and grandfather died during their respective Hajj pilgrimages three decades and five decades ago.

Three Generations

Dr. Jamal Amin Qassem, a cousin of the deceased, disclosed the startling fact.

“My beloved cousin Mohammad Salim Qassem, former head of Rashid and Edku Post Group, has passed away in the holy land, as if we were on a date with meeting God in this holy spot, where his father, my uncle Saad Salim Qassim, and his grandfather, died in the same place and during the same journey,” he said.

As the Qassem family and the community of Idku come to terms with their loss, many found comfort in the thought that Mohammad, his father, and his grandfather have been united in the holy land.

Hajj is an important event in the Islamic calendar as millions of Muslims gather every year in Saudi Arabia city of Makkah to perform the life-time journey.

Every able-bodied adult Muslim who can financially afford the trip must perform Hajj at least once in a lifetime.
