Don’t Neglect the Quran!

We have sent down to you the Book as clarification for all things and as guidance and mercy and good tidings for the Muslims.” (Surah An-Nahl, Verse-89.)

The power of the Book of Allah has touched so many, many souls since it was revealed. So many people came to Islam just because of one verse (ayah) that struck their buried emotions. Re-reading it and doing your best to reflect upon its verses is worth every minutes of your time.

Brother Yusha Evans is making a passionate speech about the need to be attentive when listening to the Quran and the necessity to understand Who is speaking to us through the Quran.

We are able to listen respectfully and scrupulously to our parents or managers, shouldn’t we be even more focused when it comes to the Quran because it is the words of “He who fashioned us in the wombs of our mothers”?

We sometimes take it lightly or we get lazy, tired from listening to it when the Imam is quoting the Quran or reciting it (Especially during the month of Ramadan).

Yusha Evans reminds us again that Quran is a gift to believers:  “[…]you understand how blessed you are to have that […] and understand that your Creator still speaks to you.

And instead of reading the Quran while making efforts to find the meaning of its verses, many of us are guilty of simply neglecting it, or storing it somewhere like you would do with any other kind of book. But the Quran isn’t just a book; it is the right guidance (huda or hoda in Arabic) for a Muslim.

Here is how our brother explains it: […] inside of this book is the explanation of everything. Everything is in here !!! Meaning this book that we neglect and we sit on shelves and watch it collect dust, is everything that you would ever need as a human being in this life!

The Quran is reminder of how to set up our compass in everyday’s life. It is meant to refresh our hearts in times of doubt or pain.

It is a mercy to us so take it as it is: a gift for yourself and the ones you love.
