Important Dua when Affected by Hardship and Financial Problems

An important thing to understand is that making dua to Allah means that you put your hope and trust in Him and his wisdom.

As well learning about the supplications that the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) used to say, is preparing a gateway to your peace of mind.

In this informative video Shaykh Yahya Ibrahim is explaining a dua that we can recite in Arabic or in our mother tongue, to help us continue being capable in all kind of domains.

Indeed this dua teaches us to change out state of mind in order to take charge in fixing our problems.

Effectively this dua is stating 8 barriers that prevent you from moving forward in your lives:

Anxiety & Sorrow

Weakness & Laziness

Greediness & Cowardice (excessive fear)

Being under the burden of Debts

Being controlled by others (physically, mentally or financially)

Because of the benefits of this dua, our Prophet (pbuh) used to recite it morning and night:

“O Allah, I take refuge in You from anxiety and sorrow, weakness and laziness, greediness and cowardice, from being overcome by debt and from being over powered by men (i.e. others).” [Al-Bukhari 7/158]

Transliteration if you want to know how to pronounce it in Arabic:

Allaahumma ‘innee ‘a’oothu bika minal-hammi walhazani, wal’ajzi walkasali, walbukhli waljubni, wa dhala’id-dayni wa ghalabatir-rijaal

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْهَمِّ وَالْحَزَنِ، وَالْعَجْزِ وَالْكَسَلِ، وَالْبُخْلِ وَالْجُبْنِ، وَضَلَعِ الدَّيْنِ، وَغَلَبَةِ الرِّجَالِ

May Allah help us in overcoming our personal and professional issues, ameen.

“And whosoever fears Allah and keeps his duty to Him, He will make a way for him to get out (from every difficulty). And He will provide for him from sources he never could imagine. And whosoever puts his trust in Allah, then He will suffice him. Verily, Allah will accomplish His purpose. Indeed Allah has set a measure for all things.” (Surah At-Talaq 65:2-3)
